JACQUI ROSE

Jacqui opened Lucky Dagger amidst the pandemic in 2020. Though originally from California, she learned how to tattoo in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam after she was there teaching ESL, and then moved to Cambodia’s capital city, Phnom Penh, where she tattooed in a Western style street shop doing any and every kind of tattoo. After a few years abroad, she moved back to the US and settled in New Orleans after experiencing strangely similar parallels to cities in SEA. Though she was and still is influenced by southeast Asian culture and imagery, she has narrowed her focus to mostly bold tattoos based off of classic American traditional designs, like those of Bert Grimm, Sailor Jerry or Cap Coleman. She adds a modern take to classic designs and likes to curate a fun and easy going environment with no pretentious vibes.

In 2022 Jacqui founded Nola Cans 4 Food, a non-profit org dedicated to recycling aluminum cans and using the cash from scrapping to buy groceries and cook meals for the Nola Community Fridges. She is also leading different recycling projects that include recycling paper, plastic, repurposing grocery bags, and plastic containers.
