AFTERCARE
Saran wrap: Leave on for however long your artist tells you.
Recovery (second skin): Leave on for 1-5 days. Shower, but do not submerge. If it starts to peel off and expose your tattoo, remove it. Remove slowly, do not rip off. Using coconut oil or another kind of oil in the shower helps remove stickiness. Blood and plasma will build up inside the saniderm, this is normal!
Always wash your hands with hot water and soap before touching or washing your tattoo.
Wash your tattoo with hot water and unscented soap 2 times a day. Use your hand to lather the soap. Do not use a luffa. Pat or air dry.
With clean hands, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or shea butter over your tattoo 2 times a day or as needed. Do not smother!
Do not swim or soak your tattoo for 2 weeks.
Shower as usual. Use your unscented soap.
Avoid sun exposure for the first 2 weeks of healing, and after that use sunscreen on your tattoo.
Avoid wearing tight clothing over your tattoo if possible.
Do not pick scabs or scratch your tattoo.
If you go to the gym or get your tattoo dirty, wash it right after.
Recommended soaps: Dr. Bronners, Dial
Do not use Vaseline or medicine on your tattoo.
